Get ready to indulge your sweet tooth in this submission to our 2019 Style Shoot Design Contest! Founder of Pink Poodle Dress Lounge Raeshawn Bumphers wanted to incorporate feminine, friendship, love, joy and energy into a shoot that focused on local businesses. Dubbing this shoot, “All Pink, All Sweet,” Raeshawn created an ultra-modern look in this delightfully delicious style shoot!

The color palette used in this shoot was a mashup of the venue's and designer's color schemes. “Pink and teal are girly colors that automatically bring the beauty out of the dresses and the women wearing them,” Raeshawn explains. “Pink is now known for Pink Poodle Dress Lounge and teal for For The Love of Sugar in Detroit.” We love the pastel flower wall that accompanied the beautiful bouquets of roses and orchids and, of course, that touch of Living Coral!

This might have been the first style shoot Raeshawn ever did, but we love what she accomplished! This shoot was centered between two local Detroit businesses, For The Love of Sugar and Pink Poodle Dress Lounge. Raeshawn explains that because they have similar feminine vibes, pairing them together for a styled shoot was an easy choice. “Both businesses are fabulous, girly and fun,” she says. “For The Love of Sugar has so many details with furniture and complete décor. The colors and glamour of the space and cakes fit right into the theme. It’s the best establishment where people can unwind, take it all in and experience the lush atmosphere of everything sweet.”

The dresses in this shoot were chosen because of their playful summer styles. We love how the champagne colored bridal gown perfectly complements the bride’s complexion! The mermaid style wedding gown and the two different colors and styles of the bridesmaids’ dresses leaned into new trends that the team wanted to hit on. Raeshawn notes that jewelry played a large part in keeping this shoot cute and classy. “The earrings have a simple elegance that highlighted the beautifully designed dresses,” she says.

We love the diverse hair--and styles--this shoot has. “Our stylist had to create a design for hair that would set them apart and create a flow for them to connect,” Raeshawn explains. We’re giving a special shout out to the gorgeous pairing of updos and headpieces! The makeup of the bride followed the sugary design for the shoot with a sweet, soft pink lip.

Staying true to the treats this venue offered, Raeshawn wanted this bridal party to be sipping on lattes and munching on macaroons rather than digging into a cake.
