Sometimes all it takes to find your person is asking the right friend. While attending Ball State University, Natalee joked with her roommate that she was feeling very single and wondered if she knew anyone worth meeting. Her roommate immediately suggested her high school best friend, Colson. Although the two initially connected on social media without much conversation, fate had other plans. A few months later, while visiting friends at Indiana University for Halloween, Natalee reached out and invited Colson to join them. They spent the entire evening together, and the rest is history!

What started as a day of house hunting quickly turned into one of the most memorable days of the couple's lives. Before heading to a picnic along the Canal Walk in downtown Indianapolis, Natalee and Colson toured a home they instantly fell in love with and excitedly submitted an offer together. The unexpected detour put them behind schedule, and to top it off, a downpour threatened their picnic plans. Fortunately, the rain eventually cleared, giving the couple the opportunity to stroll along the canal. It was there that Colson dropped to one knee and asked Natalee to marry him. "It was the perfect imperfect day, and I wouldn't change a single thing," Natalee gushes. As if the proposal wasn't memorable enough, the couple learned the very next day that their offer on the house had been accepted, making the weekend one they'll never forget!

A few months before the proposal, Natalee and Colson shopped for rings together to get an idea of her style. After trying on several designs, Natalee realized she loved the timeless beauty of an oval diamond surrounded by a halo. Colson took those preferences and created something even more meaningful. "The result was the engagement ring of my dreams," Natalee shares. "I love how timeless and elegant it is, and every time I look at it, I'm reminded of the love and thought that went into choosing it."

The couple met their photographer, Elisha Kaldahl Photography, at a bridal expo and immediately connected with both her warm personality and impressive portfolio. They knew they had found someone who would beautifully tell their story, and that confidence carried into their engagement session!
When searching for the perfect locale, Coxhall Gardens quickly stood out. With its elegant architecture, lush landscaping and fresh spring blooms, the gardens provided a romantic setting that complemented the timeless feel they envisioned for their photos.

As they continue planning their wedding, one detail has remained constant from the very beginning: a fall celebration filled with rich autumn colors. The rest has come together naturally as they've enjoyed designing a day that feels authentic to their relationship. With extra time to dedicate to planning over the summer, Natalee has embraced every moment of the process, and together, she and Colson are looking forward to celebrating the next chapter of their story with the people they love most!
