It was fate that Caleb and Abbey would both be housed in Munday Hall during their junior year at Western Kentucky University. After meeting and hanging out for a while, everything felt so comfortable and easy. They quickly transitioned to best friends and then to a couple. "Looking back, it’s funny how something so ordinary turned into something so life-changing," Abbey admits. Caleb decided to propose in July of 2024. They participated in a wine tasting, and afterward, Caleb led her out front to a large oak tree. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!

"I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted: something strapless with either a jacquard or brocade fabric," Abbey explains regarding her dress choice. "I tried on several styles before finding the one that felt just right, and the moment I did, I knew it was 'the one' for me." We think Abbey looks absolutely stunning in the gown she picked! The unique material makes a classic silhouette stand out beautifully while remaining elegant. She is truly as glowing as every bride should be on their wedding day!

As many couples do, Abbey and Caleb began their wedding planning process by discussing their expectations for the day. Abbey shares, "We began the planning process by talking about what we wanted the day to feel like. Once we had that in place, we focused on the overall feel we wanted for the big day. Social media was a big help in this process, especially Pinterest and Instagram, for inspiration and seeing how
other couples blended tradition with their personal style." They settled on pink—Caleb's grandmother's favorite color—to be the center of their color scheme. Then, their elegant yet colorful day came to life!

Choosing their wedding vendors actually came pretty naturally for Caleb and Abbey. They did tastings to settle on the best food for their big day. The cake was an easy choice since Caleb's cousin is a baker and they knew they wanted to include that personal connection on the happiest day of their lives. "As for our photographer, I’ve known Bree Neeley, the owner of Neeley Photography, for practically my whole life. She’s captured so many major moments for me over the years, so having her photograph our wedding made it extra special and personal," Abbey raves.

What We Love
Wanting a unique way to get pictures with all the guests who shared their wedding day with them, Caleb and Abbey curated a photo-op at their reception. They had a greenery display and flower wall with mirrors and a sofa at the entrance of their reception space. "It let us take photos with each guest or group as soon as we arrived at the reception, creating special memories we’ll always be able to look back on," Abbey gushes.

Advice from the Couple
Abbey and Caleb advise, "Now that we’ve planned and had our wedding, the biggest advice we’d give other couples is to focus on what truly matters to you as a couple. It’s easy to get caught up in trends, opinions or trying to make everyone happy, but at the end of the day, it’s your day and your memories!"
