Maddie and Avery’s love story has been years in the making! Maddie grew up with Avery always nearby, as he was best friends with her brothers long before he ever became her partner. “We were around each other for years before anything romantic ever happened,” Maddie shares. “It’s special knowing our story started with friendship and family long before dating.” That strong foundation made their transition into a relationship feel natural and deeply rooted from the very beginning!

When it came time to propose, Avery planned a thoughtfully curated weekend getaway to Cuyahoga Falls. At the top of a waterfall, surrounded by nature, he popped the question in a moment that felt both intimate and unforgettable. Maddie describes it as “such a beautiful, intimate moment—completely unexpected and perfect for us.” The ring was just as meaningful: an emerald-cut stone on an engraved gold band that Avery custom-designed himself. “Every time I look at it, it feels incredibly personal and meaningful,” Maddie gushes.

For their engagement session, Maddie knew exactly the kind of aesthetic she was drawn to. After researching photographers, she connected with Yaw’s work for its timeless yet modern feel. They chose Ault Park as the backdrop, loving how the stone pavilion and surrounding gardens struck “the perfect balance of elegance and nature.” Leaning into a clean, modern look, the couple opted for lots of white in their outfits—classic, elevated and perfectly suited to the season of life they were in.

While Maddie didn’t have a rigid vision for the wedding at the time of their engagement, that openness made the planning process feel more joyful and authentic. Now married as of September, she reflects on the experience with gratitude: “Planning definitely came with moments of stress and a lot of decisions, but I always tried to remind myself that no matter what, we would end the day married.” And in the end, that perspective made their beautiful day—and the journey to it—all the more meaningful!
