Simplistic Elegance on the Shores of Lake Macatawa: The Real Wedding of Taylor and Andrew Ciesliga

After meeting on a dating app in 2021, Andrew asked Taylor out on a date. They landed on one of their now-favorite Chicago restaurants. After dating for a few years, Andrew proposed during their summer trip to Italy! Taylor recalls, "He planned the perfect night with a beautiful view in Capri. He proposed during sunset in this beautiful garden area overlooking the ocean, and had dinner reservations made for right after."
 

Once they landed back in the United States and celebrated their engagement fully, it was time to begin planning! To keep themselves on an steady timeline, they used plenty of online checklists. However, when it came to getting inspiration for their wedding theme, they turned to social media. "Our theme was classic and timeless, with white and sage green being the colors. We wanted something a little more neutral that we wouldn’t look back years from now going, 'What were we thinking??'" Taylor explains.

With their theme in mind, Taylor and Andrew set out on a journey to find the vendors that would bring their ideal wedding day together. Their photographer was a friend of Andrew's and actually recommended their coordinator to them. From there, things began to fall into place from recommendations and reviews, along with finding a few on social media! Where they were going to get married was very important, as it is for many couples. Taylor and Andrew loved that their venue had an indoor and outdoor option. They were able to host the ceremony outside on the shores of the lake, and then they danced the night away with their loved ones inside the ballroom. The venue also had retractable doors that they were able to leave open all night to enjoy the fresh air!

Taylor and Andrew advise, "For a while throughout the planning process, we kept thinking we had so much time to get things done, so I would say it’s never too early to start anything - whether it’s booking vendors or picking out accessories—start early!"
