Tropical Bliss in Chicago: The Real Wedding of Christina & Kolton White

Photos ByRachael Kazmier Associates

Unlike most brides, Christina got the opportunity to see both of her dream wedding themes come to life. “We were a COVID couple, as our originally planned wedding date was July 18, 2020,” Christina explains. After doing an intimate D.I.Y. wedding in her parent’s backyard in June of 2020, Christina and Kolton were ready to have a big, bright wedding the second time around. To balance the beautiful greenery in their venue, Christina and Kolton brought in some hot pink tropical florals to the bouquets and décor around the space. We love the fun and whimsical vibe of their special day!

What We Love

Being half-Vietnamese, Christina wanted to honor her heritage by wearing a traditional áo dài during dinner and toasts. During a FaceTime with a special tailor in Texas, Christina and her mom chose the beautiful bright red fabric—which is the customary bridal color in Vietnam. We love all the lace detailing in the áo dài and how it pops against the greenery around them!
